Are you in need of a Hot Paraffin Wax Manicure?
If winter has made your hands dry, then you’re in desperate need of not just a manicure, but a Paraffin Wax manicure!
The paraffin wax manicure is known for treating dehydrated skin. It leave the pores open in order to let the required moisture get in.
What’s a Paraffin Wax Manicure?
A Paraffin wax manicure is a manicure that uses paraffin wax in order to moisturize and nourish the skin in order to make it softer and smoother. It has a very soothing effect on the hands.
Paraffin wax is used because it’s not like regular wax that can burn the skin. Paraffin wax can be heated to a temperature of over 35 °C.
The paraffin wax is normally infused with ingredients like tea tree oil, aloe vera and chamomile, all of which have a very soothing effect on the skin.
How is the Paraffin Wax Manicure done?
There are around 3 ways that one can apply the paraffin wax.
Most of the salons and spa’s use the dip method whereby the hand is dipped into the paraffin wax over and over again until the hand is fully covered in the wax.
Another way is to use a brush to apply the paraffin wax onto the hands, where it’s repeatedly brushed on until the entire hand is covered in wax.
Some salons and spa’s also use very thin sheets of the paraffin wax that are transferred to the hands in order for the paraffin wax to settle on the hands.
Once the method of applying the paraffin wax is implemented, a soaked hot water towel is then wrapped onto the hand to keep it warm and remain moist for around 20-30 minutes after which the wax has to be peeled off.
Luckily, it’s not like hair removal wax that will cause you pain or discomfort, because the paraffin wax does not stick to the skin.
